Jim Earley is a sports massage therapist and a NCBTMB Approved Provider that works with 38 teams at 19 different colleges and universities. This class is hands on and teaches the therapist how to use different types of stretching for their clients, focusing on athletes, but can be used on anyone. The class examines static stretching vs. active stretching Active Isolated Stretching (Dr Aaron Mattes, creator), and PNF stretching, which is better known as contract/relax stretching. PNF stand for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation. We also examine pre and post event stretching and when to use each type of stretching with your client. Active Isolated Stretching will incorporate performing the stretches on your client and also for self-care for the therapist.
