Course Difficulty Level: Advanced
In this module CST III of training the therapist will explore the internal cranial vault utilizing skull models and practice anatomic location during lab. Exercises are done in this section to visualize nerve path of the twelve-cranial nerve and their associated autonomic and motor functions.
Protocols will first be demonstrated on skull models and then practiced on self by students for proper palpation. Treatment is utilized to address internal tension restrictions often described as rotation, shearing and impingement. These internal forces when treated relieve many causes of headache, sinus congestion, tempromandibular joint dysfunction, ankyloglossia, “tongue tied” and painful mastication. These are client-assisted techniques. This process will educate the massage therapist how to instruct and empower the client/patient how to administer self-care and assist the therapist during an advanced cranial protocol.
This work is intended for adult patients only.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to identify the twelve cranial nerves, location and function.
- They will be able to demonstrate how to apply four patient assisted protocols to relieve symptom and educate patients for self-care.
