.00, deep tissue“This is a highly trained medical massage team, adept at addressing soft tissue complaints with refined neuro-muscular hands-on therapy. Whether you are tight or in pain, just want to get flexible, or want to feel younger and look your best, these are the people to go to; this is the place to go.”
Dr. Henry A. Katz, M.D., Internal Medicine
The difference between a medical massage and a deep tissue massage.
They use the same techniques; however, a deep tissue massage is a general overall massage.
It addresses the tight, stiff, soft tissue, improving circulation, increasing flexibility, releasing anxiety, said to alkalize the blood stream and significantly speed up healing.
If you have a specific soft tissue complaint that needs our professional attention, like lower back or hip pain, a stiff painful neck, a shoulder impingement, an inter-scapula knot, knee pain, etc., that makes it a medical massage and requires our therapists to take a lot more massage therapy training.

Manual Lymph Drainage
Manual lymph drainage (MLD) and it's profound effects on health, beauty and anti aging has been enjoyed by Europeans for many decades. MLD is not a massage therapy in the traditional sense. Massage is directed towards the musculo-skeletal system, MLD addresses the lymphatic system and it's pathways. The human body contains between 500 and 700 lymph nodes and these are directly part of our bodies waste filtration system. The lymph are just under the surface of the skin and require a very light pumping action to move them along. The aim is to promote the lymph flow not cut it off with deeper strokes.
Studies have confirmed MLD and deep tissue massage resolved post-operative swelling and fibrosis in as little as 6 weeks to 3 months, thereby shortening their recovery significantly! Therefore, it is recommended 3 to 5 session of MLD prior to surgery and 5 consecutive sessions immediately after surgery.
INDICATIONS:
For pre- and post-operative surgery,
PAIN (complex regional pain syndrome),
immune system enhancement, traumatic injuries, muscle tears, sinus issues, concussion, glaucoma, edema, scar tissue, treating chronic inflammation and subacute inflammatory conditions, soft-tissue rheumatic disorders, as well as wound healing. Healthy individuals will also benefit from Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage. Women have long appreciated its salutary effect on swollen legs.
MLD THERAPIES OFFERED:
Full Body; Head, Neck and Face; Side-lying and Pregnancy; Surgeries; Scars; Pain Management

Lymphatic Drainage: Face, Head, Neck, Shoulders
a.k.a...The MLD Facelift
MLD of the Face, Head, Neck, and Shoulders for your personal health and beauty! Manual lymph drainage is a gentle, pulsing massage technique that speeds the movement of lymphatic fluid, promotes circulation, and reduces inflammation. It is said to help improve the appearance of the skin by reducing swelling and puffiness to the face and head (especially after surgery). Our own clientele has suggested with regular lymphatic drainage sessions their wrinkles and fine lines improved. One client said it relieved her foggy brain and another experienced rapid healing after a facelift. A third said it opened her breathing and got rid of her chronic sinus infections. We know physicians have referred their long Covid patients to us for MLD. But keep in mind that your lymphatic system is directly dependent on a healthy immune system. And that is achieved the old-fashioned way with a healthy diet, exercise, sleep, managing stress, etc. So, everyone is different and may require a different number of sessions to see the same results. One thing is for certain, at New Jersey Massage, our therapists are trained in the latest lymphatic skills. After all, we are a school that trains licensed therapists in MLD and this treatment to the head, neck and shoulders is all the RAVE!

Deep Tissue Massage Facial Therapy
The Deep Massage Therapy Facial is not the typical facial received at a salon by a cosmetologist or an esthetician, rather it is one uniquely designed for us, the massage therapist.
It is our belief that combining deep tissue massage with organic skin care products is a great idea! It seems like every time I have gotten a facial or a hot stone treatment, afterwards, I would walk out so relaxed that I could hardly talk but that would just make me more aware of how tight and stiff my body was.
If I could just get someone to address the aches and pains along with taking my brain away…
well, you get the idea.
What’s even more exciting is that as you dramatically increase circulation to shoulders, neck and face, using our specially designed deep tissue techniques, you look significantly younger. Add some wonderful foot and hand massage and an aroma rich hot towel facial hydrotherapy and voila; “TOTAL NIRVANA!”
