NJ, NY, and PA all require First Aid but do not award CE credits for it.
A must for every massage therapist and body worker, and a must for NJ and other certifications.
-The NJ Board of Massage allows for CE classes to be given online, CPR notwithstanding.
-The American Red Cross says...
The First Aid/CPR/AED Provisional Certification Program consists of 2 separate courses:
A blended learning course for the cognitive portion
An Instructor-led skill session for skill verification
New and re-certifying customers will complete the blending learning portion of their class and receive a Provisional Certificate which allows the student 90 days before taking the Instructor-led skills session.
Dr. Toni LaSala, PhD, LMT is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at William Paterson University. Join her as she teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. This course incorporates the latest science and integrates First Aid, CPR and the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). You will learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as: burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head injuries, neck injuries, back injuries, heat related emergencies, cold related emergencies, breathing emergencies, and cardiac emergencies.
You will be able to help victims of any age. The pediatric curriculum covers infants and children up to 12 years of age. The adult curriculum covers those of about 12 years and older. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
Our school director says -
"Take it online and we'll see how it turns out. I'm thinking if you take the online class, the hands on practical might be waved by the State of NJ. Not sure if that will be for two years or like the American Red Cross says, 90 days. The ninety day provision is shaky because they are saying we will have a big recurrence possible in August."
