Seniors represent a vast untapped resource for us to monetize our massage practices. And talk about a population of folks that desperately need your healing touch. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the benefits of geriatric massage, age related changes to the body, assessments, plan of care, how to apply massage techniques that will help aging clients reduce anxiety, increase comfort, help to manage pain. You will learn appropriate massage techniques for older adults in your office, at their home or in the hospital with medical therapies. Students will also learn about aging, theories of aging and factors that contribute to aging. This course will also discuss the physiological, psychological, and sociological and cognitive changes in the older population.
