Annette Joubert, LMT, MLD/C
Annette Joubert has been a massage therapist for over twenty-five years. In the course of her practice she worked in the spa industry and as an instructor for massage. During her tenure her clients prompted her to provide services as an infant massage instructor then, labor and delivery doula.
In 2001 her newborn son was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and torticollis. Her focus was to become educated and competent in providing his pediatric therapy. It was through his disability that prompted her volunteering to work with children who had sensory processing disorders, autism and cerebral palsy.
Since 2009 she has been a massage therapist within Atlantic healthcare working in multi faceted environments. Her patients in and outpatient are adult and pediatric. Their challenges are based on their interventions for oncology, neurological, chronic pain, anxiety and depression. She integrates massage and energy modalities into her therapeutic application. Modalities practiced Cranio Sacral Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu acupressure, Medical Qi Gong, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Myofacial release and Sports massage. Parents accompany children and home care application is demonstrated.

“Marianne”, my 93 year old grandmother was the spark to send me to find a massage technique which would be safe and effective for her. This was the impetus to learn cranio sacral therapy. It helped her body relax and over time reduced her edema, so that she was able to reduce medication and became more functional. Since then I have been a seeker of the cranio sacral therapy process.
I have studied to the advanced levels to include pediatric clinical application within the Upledger institute. I found a visionary cranio sacral approach offered by Hugh as well as the Biomechanical approach offered by Stanley Rosenberg and Alain Gehin MD. Most recently to complement the physical aspect of cranio sacral therapy, the work done by Stephen Porges, PhD. Expounds on the power of the vagus nerve in his research about poly vagal theory. I utilize cranio sacral therapy and integrate this work to heal trauma and to assist a patient/client to connect to self and engage in self-care.
The classes in Cranio Sacral therapy (CST) are tiered in their practice application.
Cranio Sacral I and II are the gates to which anatomy and cranio sacral protocols offer in the learning and practice.
CST I and II are prerequisites to the more specialized classes:
Entering the Vault: Cranial Nerves-A functional approach to teaching client/patient self care
Applying Cranio Sacral Therapy in the Healthcare Model: Bedside and clinical protocol for post concussion Therapy
Protocols for Unburdening the Vagus Nerve and Strategies to Free Cranial Sutures
