Remember when the world saw the cupping marks on all those Olympic athletes?
It's time to add the new popular modality to your skill set and not just with anybody.
In the North Jersey Massage Training Center tradition, we didn't just get anyone to teach cupping, we got Michael Phelps personal sports massage therapist Jim Earley, B.A., LMT. Jim, a Board Certified sports massage therapist for 25 years, currently works with 38 teams at 19 different colleges and universities! The class goals are to learn basic cupping techniques, get comfortable with performing the cupping techniques, experience the cupping yourself, and learn about sports cupping (when to cup an athlete, pre, post and during an athletic event).
The class will also cover :
• What is Cupping?
• Origin of Cupping
• Benefits of Cupping
• Contraindications
• Types of Cups
• Lubrication
• Types of Cupping (Static, Sliding)
• Steps of Cupping
• Post Cupping Guidelines
• Practice Sessions on various areas of body
Students will be asked to bring sheets, lubricant (gel, lotion) as well as hand sanitizer (for cup cleaning) and paper towels.
And you will take a cupping set home with you!
We look forward to you joining us for this awesome educational program.

Advanced Cupping Range of Motion
Sliding Cupping
with Jim Earley, BA, LMT
Day 2, 9:30am to 6:00pm, 8 credits
for all dates visit the Listing of Courses by Subject
Advanced Cupping Range of Motion Sliding Cupping will replicate Range of Motion Cupping and adding on sliding techniques.
Cups will be placed on various areas of the body and then put the various muscle groups through range of motion with sliding. This will allow a deeper release of the stagnation and inflammation. This allows the client to experience a deeper release and relief from pain.
We will be performing these techniques on various muscle groups on the upper and lower body, such as traps, rhomboids, lats, pectorals, quadratus lumborum, SI area, glute medius, hamstring, gastroc, soleus, tibialis anterior, quadriceps, TFL, biceps, triceps, upper traps,
scalenes, SCM, wrist flexors and extensors.
The class is 8 live CE’s, very participative , and the student receives a cupping set with the class but is encouraged to bring set from Jim’s Cupping 1 class with them.
