New Jersey Massage Continuing Education - Intrascapular Knot Massage
Shoulder Knot Pain — Mastering Interscapular Trigger Point Therapy
NOBODY TREATS SHOULDER KNOT PAIN MORE EFFECTIVELY THAN A MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPIST! And now, there’s a proven protocol you can follow to treat it successfully.
In our experience, the knots at the medial borders of the scapula rank among the top five most common soft tissue complaints. These stubborn trigger points can appear on either side of the body and often refer pain throughout the shoulders, neck, traps and lats, mimicking a variety of other issues.
Every year, I see clients who check themselves into the ER, fearing something far more serious, often thinking they’re having a cardiac issue because they can’t take a deep breath, lift an arm without pain or feel actual pain in their chest. After medical evaluation, they’re told it’s a pinched nerve or active trigger point in the scapular region and are referred for therapy.
The only modality I’ve found that consistently resolves rhomboid trigger points is Medical Massage and that’s what truly sets us apart from every other bodywork discipline.
Soft tissue complaints require a soft tissue solution, and we are soft tissue experts!
Join massage pioneer Larry Heisler for this all-day, hands-on workshop that focuses specifically on interscapular trigger points. You’ll explore causes, contributing factors, contraindications, and long-term strategies for successful outcomes. By the end of this class, you’ll have clinical tools, confidence, and insight to effectively address your clients’ interscapular pain while strengthening your practice and enhancing your professional reputation.
