Deep Tissue 1: Refine the Therapeutic Aspect of Massage
with Al Turner II, LMT, NMT, RTT

First, we refine the therapeutic aspect of common strokes such as effleurage and petrissage and utilize them to warm and assess the tissue. Then, we add deep tissue techniques of friction and stripping; using the elbow, forearm, knuckles, and thumbs. Oblique angle compressions, cross-fiber work, pin and stretch and other techniques coupled with angle of approach, tempo, intent and body mechanics will all enhance the therapeutic approach to concerns and dis-ease in different regions of the body.
