Spa Bodywork Basics 101: Sugar Glow & Cocoon Body Wraps

This 8-hour hands-on workshop introduces licensed massage therapists to foundational spa bodywork services that can be performed in a dry room setting. Participants will learn how to safely and effectively deliver a full-body sugar/salt glow exfoliation followed by a nourishing cocoon wrap using shea butter or similar products. The course also covers the history of spa therapies, professional protocols, benefits and contraindications, and integration of treatments into a massage therapy practice. Students will gain practical skills for expanding their menu offerings and elevating client experience.
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the history and therapeutic benefits of exfoliation and body wraps.
- Identify contraindications for exfoliation and cocoon wrap treatments.
- Demonstrate proper set-up, draping, and product application for sugar/salt glow exfoliation.
- Demonstrate proper set-up, draping, and product application for a cocoon body wrap in a dry room environment.
- Perform a full exfoliation and body wrap sequence safely and confidently.
- Explain ways to integrate spa treatments into an existing massage practice, including packaging and marketing strategies.
