Expand your therapeutic skills and discover the foundations of one of the world's oldest healing arts in this comprehensive introductory workshop. This course is designed to provide massage with a strong foundation in Asian Bodywork and the confidence to begin integrating these techniques into their professional services.
Students will be introduced to the history, philosophy, and core concepts that form the basis of Asian Bodywork. Topics include Yin and Yang theory, the Five Element Theory, the body's meridian system, and Hara diagnosis. These traditional concepts provide a framework for understanding balance, energy flow, and overall wellness from an Eastern perspective.
Throughout the course, students will learn how meridians influence health and how acupressure techniques can be used along these energetic pathways to promote relaxation and well-being. The instructor will demonstrate techniques that students will then practice on various regions of the body under supervision.
In addition to hands-on skills, participants will learn how to conduct a basic Hara assessment, recognize indications and contraindications for treatment, and develop an intake form specific to Asian Bodywork sessions. The course also includes discussion on incorporating Asian Bodywork into an existing practice and effective strategies for marketing these services to clients.
