STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Our conduct must reflect our commitment to our own learning and to uplifting others, and must demonstrate our respect for this healing profession. The following is a list of expectations we have of our students.

Failure to uphold these ideals may result in dismissal:

*Honesty in all interactions with peers and professors. Observation of the honor code when taking any written or practical test or evaluation. The honor code will be as follows: "On my honor as a student, I have neither given nor received aid on this exam."

*Observation of respectful silence during instruction, asking questions in an appropriate manner and at appropriate times.

*Demonstration of respect for others, their personal space, and their bodies. A commitment to the motto "Do No Harm" whenever physically touching another person in the practice of massage therapy.

*Seeking to uplift with our words and our actions, and advocating such behavior in others.

*Respect for school property, or property of any member of the school on school premises.

*Compliance with directions of school officials acting in the performance of their duties.

*Observation of modesty in personal dress and during class practice times as well as protection of the modesty of others.

*Refraining from the use of alcohol or drugs on school premises, and maintaining sobriety during class or other school activities.

*Exhibiting conduct in class and in other aspects of one's personal life that would in no way cast aspersion upon the reputation and standing of our school and the profession of massage therapy. Conducting oneself in accordance with professional and personal ethics as outlined in the professional organization ethics codes of the A.B.M.P. and A.M.T.A., copies of which are available for review at the school.
