Healthy Breast Massage Certification

Breast massage is very controversial and as such the State of New Jersey requires eight hours of additional training to perform it. This workshop will fulfill the State requirement and explore the following:
• Remove the taboo from the practice of breast massage.
• Become comfortable and knowledgeable about the choice of breast massage.
• Understand the benefits of breast massage.
• Review the anatomy and physiology of the breast
• Demonstrate a minimum of six hands-on techniques.
• Discuss the legal, ethical and emotional issues relating to breast massage.
• Learn proper positioning and draping.
• Learn how to introduce your client to the new techniques.
• Obtain hand out materials and learn self breast massage.
• Identify the guidelines for ethical breast massage.


Mastectomy Massage

Whether breast surgery is life-saving or cosmetic, massage therapy is beneficial to the client and enhances the healing process. Cheryl will cover:
• An understanding of the physiological, social and emotional aspects of breast cancer and breast surgeries.
• Review of the anatomy, physiology and lymphatic system of the breast.
• Learn to recognize lymphedema and work safely with the condition.
• Gain knowledge of the various breast surgeries: augmentation, explanation, reduction and implants.
• Learn appropriate and effective massage techniques and hands on practice.
• Positioning, body mechanics and draping for chair, side-lying and table.
• Skills needed to teach clients self care techniques, including massage, R.O.M., exercise and stretching.
• Survey of broad range of resources available to client and therapist.

We are much honored to present our former graduate and the former President of the NJ Chapter of AMTA in this important certificate training program. Cheryl will address the complete scope of massage therapy for cancer and life-altering illnesses from the contraindications and anatomy and physiology to positioning, draping, massage techniques, legal issues and documentation. Three of the Hours can be used for fulfilling the state and national ethics requirement, and this two day program is the prerequisite for Cheryl’s Mastectomy Massage.
This workshop is open to all levels of massage and bodywork practitioners, hospice caregivers and health care providers – especially those interested in cancer care.

Join Cheryl Chapman (past NJ AMTA President) for this dynamic two day hands-on prenatal and postpartum massage certification. Prenatal and postpartum massage is therapeutic bodywork focusing on the special needs of the expectant mother. This presentation will teach you the ins and outs of working with your pregnant client through every phase of the childbirth experience. From common complaints like morning sickness, fatigue and mood swings, to back, neck and shoulder pain, contraindications and special points. Working with pregnancy is an exceptional experience that should be included in the services you offer, but undertaken only by massage practitioners with this type of extra training and insight.
Training Manual included. This class fulfills insurance requirement to work with pregnancy massage.

This specialized Reiki training covers all of the energy attunements and teachings of Usui Reiki as it was first taught in the U.S. In addition to the healing activation, the training covers many aspects of how Reiki supports daily interaction with clients in office, home and hospital settings. The entire training is presented as practicum, a combination of teachings and hands-on practice. Betsy Browder has been a practitioner of traditional Usui Reiki for 22 years and a facilitator around the U.S. for the past 15 years. Betsy is an active ordained Interfaith Minister, has taught at the university level, and facilitates a Healing Apprenticeship in spiritual and emotional growth.




The Raindrop Technique Certification

Raindrop technique is a massage in which a series of 7 different essential oils are applied along the spine and back muscles to promote circulation, muscle relaxation, tissue healing and more. The technique was created by Dr. Gary Young based on his studies with a Lakota Medicine Man. The technique is called Raindrop because the oils are dropped like rain along the spine. You will learn massage techniques specific to Raindrop, Tibetan reflexology (Vita Flex), the lymphatic pump, Valor Balance and so much more. The protocol will be demonstrated in full, followed by 2 hands-on sessions in which you will give and receive a Raindrop, followed by questions and answers and safety precautions. You will also learn about therapeutic grade essential oils, their history and how to use them. You will leave the class feeling confident to apply the oils safely and explore more about this powerful healing modality. Raindrop Technique will add a powerful new modality to your practice, and boost your income! It is recommended that you purchase the raindrop kit before the class so you will be ready to practice after the class. You can order them through our main office. It is recommended that you come with a partner so that you will be able to trade and practice right after the class. You will receive a certification of training upon completion of class. You do not have to be a massage therapist to perform this powerful therapeutic technique.

Mark has worked extensively providing on-site massage to the medical, elite athletic, resort, day spa, cruise line and casino gaming communities. In addition, Mark administrates a professional seated chair massage team that travels nationally and internationally. Tai Chi / Chi Kung for Health Care Practitioners

Chinese Tai Chi / Chi Kung forms and exercises are practiced daily by millions of people worldwide. These gentle, but powerful movements often referred to as “moving meditation” have long term health benefits. In this workshop you will learn useful Chi Kung exercises to use daily; the importance of breath, and how Chi Kung is beneficial for health in reducing stress, helping arthritis, digestion, improving immune system and sleep disorders.
You will learn the importance of balancing Body, Mind, and Spirit which are referred to as “THE THREE TREASURES.” Sifu Chuck will demonstrate a number of Tai Chi / Chi Kung forms and exercises. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Sifu Chuck began studying Shaolin Kung Fu 35 years ago and continues to study Tai Chi / Chi Kung healing with “Grand Master T.K. Shih” who also is a traditional Chinese physician and acupuncture doctor. He also studies with Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, a leading authority in Chi Kung. Chuck is a certified Qi Healer, and is a NJ state certified massage therapist specializing in deep tissue therapy and traditional barefoot shiatsu.

Join our expert EMT, Joe Jazwick, as he teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The Heartsaver First Aide Course was developed to meet a widespread request for an American Heart Association course that integrates First Aide, CPR and the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
