How to read this newsletter:
weeks I put out a newsletter and each newsletter contains three poignant
sections. The first section, opening the newsletter is my keynote article
filled with powerful spiritual insights based on my lifetime of spiritual
study, practice and teaching. The second section, in the middle of the
newsletter, is devoted to our Accredited Continuing Education Programs,
our healing facilities and what's new and happening in and around New
Jersey Massage. The third section is devoted to health, wellness
and environmental issues.
hope you get inspired by what you read and I ask you to share this
newsletter with your friends and family. If you have read or come across
something that is newsworthy, please forward it to me and perhaps we can
include it our newsletter.
Ten Things You Can Do Daily To Change Your Whole Game!

long can you procrastinate?
has sprung, no more excuses,
It's long over due,
Time to Step Up!
Here we go:
Eat a high protein, plant based diet
study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (September 2010)
revealed that a low- carb diet that is heavy on proteins and fats from
plants can reduce the risk of death from all medical causes. A quarter
cup of any bean has the same amount of protein as one ounce of meat and the addition of whole grains, nuts,
seeds and fermented soy products like tofu, and miso can significantly
improve your health. Substitute healthy fats for unhealthy. Get rid of
the high fat dairy, cheese and meat for healthier sources of Omega -3
fatty acids like nut butters, seeds, avocados, olives, flax seeds, and
mono-saturated oils like olive and walnut oil. Replace cows milk with healthier
substitutes like soy, almond and rice milks.
breathing exercises everyday.
exercise prepares ones mind for deeper
contemplation and eventually leads to deep states of meditation.
addition you will handle stress, fatigue and anxieties much better.
Try the Mahadavananda breath,
this great Indian Yogi
used this breath to achieve great
right pointer finger on your third eye, cover your
right nostril with your right thumb. Breathe up your left nostril, hold the breath and close both nostrils,
bring your chin down to your chest, tongue to the roof of your mouth and
squeeze your butt. Hold... now slowly lift your head and exhale out
your left nostril. Now inhale in that same left nostril, hold the breathe
and close both nostrils, chin to chest, tongue
to the roof of your mouth, squeeze your butt again. Now slowly lift your
head and exhale out your right nostril. Repeat entire sequence for three
minutes. Perform four times a day; upon awakening, around lunch, when
your return home from work and before you go to bed. Four times a day.
See what happens after a week!
Smiling Buddha Technique Daily
This is an
amazing I Chuan technique used by Tai Chi folks
and martial artists alike to dramatically strengthen their body, boost their immune function and help them come
into their power by developing the ability to become empty. My Tai Chi Sifu Gary Carbone says it's by becoming physically empty
that we come into out ultimate power. Of course
as a meditation teacher we teach the exact same thing. The fact that it
really makes you healthier is very powerful but another amazing quality
and I have found this out first hand, is that this technique opens the
heart center. Try it and you'll see what I mean. Stand with your knees
slightly bent, back straight, head square upon your shoulders with hands
stretched out in front of you as if you were hugging a tree trunk. Have
your hands facing you about the height of your pecs.
Now for the next five minutes as you stand hugging an imaginary tree,
just breathe and let go of all the stress in your body.
THING... YOU HAVE TO DO THIS SMILING.
time you will do this standing meditation for a half hour, even an hour
at a time. I have done this technique with every Tai Chi instructor I
have ever worked with but never in all the years has anyone suggested to
do this all the while with a smile on my face. Try it, it's an
meditating every morning and every evening.
three minutes of the Mahadavananda breathe, close your eyes and as if there was a nose in the center of
your chest breathe into your heart center.
in light or love, or a color and with each exhale, visualize the energy
going up your spine out the top of your head.
Make you mind
like a crystal clear lake with no ripples. When your mind wanders bring
it back to your breathe. Do ten minutes and culminate by
visualizing your day perfect, sending your loved ones healing thoughts,
opening your heart to gratitude and thankfulness or do some healing work.

Take Your Vitamins
the Harvard Nurse's Study every nurse that took a vitamin had their life extended
three to five years. And that's not all, anti oxidants
like alpha lipoic acid, co enzyme Q10, ester C,
resveratrol, green tea, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, and on and on, significantly
increase the life spans of laboratory animals and they will for you too.
every form of negative seems to proliferate in
an acid bloodstream medium. Since all animal foods turn your bloodstream
acidic, as well as simple carbs, sugar, soda, coffee and stress, odds are
you are not half as healthy as you could be. Find a great source of
alkaline water, like Fiji and Mineral Valley. Start your day off with a
glass of that wonderful water and put a squeeze of lemon juice in it for
good measure. Regularly use Himalayan Crystal Salt, consume miso soup or
soup with miso in it, take apple cider vinegar
baths or even an Epsom salt bath. Chew well and eat a lot of alkaline

Get regular deep tissue massage.
As you age your
muscles get shorter, tighter, and colder. The hardness begins to set in
and as it does, it defines how you will move when you are old. Aging
sucks for everyone similarly. Deep tissue massage breaks up that hardness
and keeps it from setting in.
